Castle Valley Scholarship In 1991, a resident of Castle Valley anonymously established a scholarship program for graduating seniors of Grand County High School going to an accredited college or vocational school. When there is more than one qualified candidate, the scholarship is split among two or more graduating seniors.   In the early years, the donor contributed $1,000 annually for the scholarship, but that was increased to $2,000 per year in 1999.  This amount has sometimes been supplemented by local individuals/businesses.   Since 1991, some $30,000 has been contributed to 29 recipients. In 2008, the scholarship of $2,000 was split between Jamie Lamb (Southern Utah University) and Margo Trunova (University of Utah).   In July, 2007 the anonymous donor was revealed to be Ralph Marble, who had recently died.  His estate continues to donate $2,000 annually.   Applications for the scholarship are sought in the summer and are awarded by the Town Council at their regular August meeting.
