Using Town Facilities

Town Office

The Town Office is a workplace for Town officials and employees. There are regularly posted office hours, and we request that citizens try to conduct their business with the Town during those hours. If necessary, a citizen may make a specific appointment for another time when the Clerk may be present.

The Town Office is not meant to be a copying center, but we understand that sometimes people need copying and faxing in the Valley rather than traveling to Moab. Therefore, we allow citizens to use the Town's copier and fax during office hours on the following basis:

  • Copies: $.25 per page
  • Fax Outgoing: $1.00 for first page; $.75 for each subsequent page
  • Fax Incoming: $.75 for first page; $.50 for each subsequent page

Notary Public

Notary services are available during regular business hours.

Town Building

The Town Building is the Castle Valley Community Center. Grand County maintains a lending library there, and various citizen groups use the building on a regular basis for meetings, exercise classes, etc. Fees for the building are nominal (i.e., a basic $20 booking fee - which can cover on-going use and hourly fees for rooms or the grounds). These fees are usually waived for non-profit groups and community events.

Every user must complete a Rental/Use Agreement whether or not they pay a fee.

 A few basics:

  • No alcohol use is permitted
  • The Town is not responsible for personal injuries or property damage sustained during an event
  • Event organizers are responsible for any damages to the building or grounds
  • We expect the building and grounds to look the same after an event as it did before an event
  • We cannot be a storehouse for equipment or special furniture, although some limited exceptions can be made for a fee
  • Building security is critical before, during and after an event
  • Please avoid excessive noise.  There are neighbors nearby.

Town Building Audio Visual Equipment

In April of 2015 the Town received a "Make a Difference" Grant from Moab's Non-Profit WabiSabi. The goal was to install permanent audio-visual equipment for the Community Center to support the highly successful programs provided by the Castle Valley Library and to establish the Town Building as a focal center for the Castle Valley community and surrounding communities to gather for entertainment, the arts, education, exercise classes and more. With generous donations from the community, Wabisabi and the Town, the Community Center is now fully equipped with a digital projector, Blu-ray player, sound system, and wall sized projector screen. The equipment will be available for all kinds of programs offered at the Town Building, details can be arranged with the Town Clerk.

Grounds and Pavilion Area

Group events on the Town Building grounds or in the pavilion area should be pre-reserved, and the organizer must complete a Rental/Use Agreement.

Small private groups may use the outdoor tables and barbeques with no fee or reservation. They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please make sure to clean the area and carry away all trash.

All events should end before 10:00 P.M. to respect the neighbors.

Basketball Court
